I thought that was the beauty of bucks?

Have you checked the redwood city marina?  I've launched from there and fished sharks in the channel, but I guess you can paddle out into the bay propper.
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.

Bucks is a thing of beauty; easy launch, bait shop is close, excellent fishing grounds, a drinking establishment on site and the owners are good people.  The only problem is that its a long @ss drive for me and my car is a pos.  After that last trip my front end is making a horrible screeching sound.

Plus, I'm convinced that there's big fish here in decent numbers and very little fishing pressure.

Loomy, hard up...........yes.   :smt003      but no more so than the last Bucks trip.  Inside the Bar I seem to recall the phrase..........."You don't own enough f*****g clothes."  :smt003

I used to fish RWC from my dad's boat with moderate sturgeon success.  Bouy 5 (or 12 can't remember)  had this killer run off channel with a big hump.  Haven't been there in a while but its next on my list.
..........agarcia is just an ex-kayaker

Art,

I have been at Buck's 3 times now.  The one you were on was the coldest.  The first one was nice...sunny and a little cold.  Mike Dale and Erik got some small sturgoens.  We got some stripers.

Second time, Josh got his keeper.  Cold  and windy but still good.

Last time I think I would have better off swimming with the Polar Bear Club.  Bill got one undersize.

I know you are on a mission and I hope you succeed.
