I trolled the north shore of Carquinez Strait around Dillon Pt. and Benicia State Park from 1:15-4:30 pm.  Trying for stripers and salmon, I caught neither.  I saw one salmon (<8lbs?) jump and that was all of the excitement.  I was using white/chartreuse JPlug, blk/white Apex and silver with holographic tape Krocodile.  Drove over to Benicia Pier afterwards and all the crowd could get from shore was one 14# salmon right at the top of the tide.  Water/weather was very conducive to fishing - fine day to be on the water.

thanks for the report piscolabis, for most on this that area is out of our sphere of experience, but we would like to learn how to catch salmon there.
