Such low water levels had us getting stuck in the sand. Catching hard-fighting Smallies made us forget about the fact the tree line, shelter&shade was what seemed a 1/4mile up from the water. We got fish and also worked hard for them. The scenery and such really puts you in a Surreal Feeling, being around such undisterbed suroundings. If the lake was at full capacity, it would be a WHOLE LOT purdy. I matched my Smallie length at 17.5in, but the thickness on these fish are unreal!

We hit the cliffy drops and trolled 2miles up lake to fish the RockPiles. Getting fish to hit, along the 8' to 20' depths.

pic1~ only if the water were higher than this.

pic2~ see the BaldEagle in the trees(left side, small dot w/wht.head)

pic3~ one of the points HOLY Patrick took full advantage of each day.

Where'd you guys stay?  Sure is purdy country up that way!  I've camped on Lewiston before, long before my kayak, and didn't get any hits on anything!  Tried talking to the marina peeps about what to use, even then using what they recommended we scored  nada. Water was freaky cold as well and level would rise & fall easily a foot every couple hours.  We understood why though being the outflow from the powerstation in the dam.
  Adam, that is a fatty!

The things that are now exposed, make one wonder, WTHell went on up here, back then?

pic1~ ? lava filled holes?, now so heavy that they fall from their homes of old.

pic2~ a petrified BigFoot skull

pic3~ this is where the waterline used to be. These layered-Cow Patty looking things were solid, heavy stones!...anybody know how they would be mixed-in with all the clay-rock?

  Adam, that is a fatty!
We piad the guy that was sitting at the beginning of this dirt road the KOA guys told us about.....for Real_!  He said we were the lucky campers to have been given the much sought and prestine Campsite1 of none.

It was blowing hard by days end, so we thought it would be chopped and nasty in the morning...it was not, just HOT and getting HOTTER by the hour. We had ground squirrels chewing through our camp and ticks to be picked. You really get to know each other when TickCheckTime rolls around. :smt052

pic1~ we had the place to ourselves.

pic2~ getting ready to hunt them hard.

pic3~ UWAction....kinda blurry, but you can get the idea.

SailSonny and JMo~ just serving my fellow brothers that could not make the trip!
We don't make it up, we just report it! :smt005

I had a difficult Saturday, hooking 1 fish in the morning and one on the evening hunt. I blame Patrick.  We were up at the RockPiles when I made the HotDog call. We paddled 2 miles back to camp, grilled dogs, reset mood and went out til sundown.....only because...that's simply how we roll.....sitting around doing nothing is what mon thru thurs are for. :smt005

pic1~ did i say it was hot?

pic2~ the boy never quits and seems to always hit target

pic3~ another UWSmallie shot

Adam,

What's your "secret" to make the fish "posing" like that?  :smt003

I tell them they will be set free & made famous, just smile and wave hello to the world! :smt006

We awoke to sun on sunday, but every morning our stuff was covered in ice. The nights were cold and required me to wear SOCKS in the sleepbag, Yuckie!!  We went on a full out assult that morning, but this floating tree made Allen think he was a lumberjack and climbed on and rolled it like a real AxMan

pic1~ putting out the fire before we fish.

We pedaled&paddled til 2, it was slow, but it was my best action on the trip. I was able to fool 5, but all were small(big one going 16") We put in a total of 18 miles of fishing in. Spent every minute we had on the water. Only time we were on land was to eat lunch, eat dinner and to sleep....why, you ask?
IT'SjustTHEwayWEroll!!.......when do we roll again! :smt003

pic1~the DynamicDou doing it in OillyGlass

pic2~ SweetCornOnTheCob on the yak.....lifes climax!

pic3~relaxing,...errr, I mean fishing hard(doing time in the RockPiles)
