I showed up with my dad at the launch North of the Marin Rod and Gun Club around 9:30 after picking up a half a dozen shiners each at Loch Lomond.  As we were unloading a car pulls up and it turns out to be a yakless SteveS. We chatted for a few minutes and Steve asked that I put up a report- fish or no fish-  so here it is:

About 45 minutes after we paddled to the South side of the Richmond /San Rafael Bridge and began to fish, my dad gets hit and lands (+/-)22 inch halibut (pic1) that was released.  Then about a hour or two later he gets another, smaller one which was also released.  I avoided a skunk with a feisty leopard shark, but also had two shiners with large chunks missing.  Somehow the fish were avoiding my stinger hooks.

We fought the outgoing tide most of the day and even ended up all the way near Paradise Cay at one point.  The weather and water was great.  My fish finder said the water temp was around 67deg.  I forgot to put sunscreen on my legs and now they are cooked.    We got back to the launch at a low tide around 3:00 and had to portage through 75 yards of bay mud to get back to the beach.

Nice report. Thanks. It looks like it was hot and flat down here as well. Good luck on future outings.

Good to hear from you Jason. At least no skunk for you guys. More than what I
can say for myself. Three trips now with no fish to show for.

Sounds like a good day to me.  Thanks for the report, I like that launch a lot.

Somehow the fish were avoiding my stinger hooks.
It seems like stinger hooks are the kiss of death.  I've heard of fish getting a free meal and missing the stinger quite a bit this year.  Whats up with that?
