I met Fishin-jay and Theresa at loch Lomand bait store at 7 am. 18 shiners and off to Paradise. Howard the ranger is a way cool guy. He let us drive down to unload. We 3 really covered some water today. Shallow, mid-range, deep all drifting shiners. One stripped bait( use that stinger hook next time). Not me. We didnt see any thing caught or hooked all day till right at the end there was aboat out trolling to the left of the pier about a mile that looked like they picked one up. The bay was awesmoe today. The only thing that could have made the day better was some fish. Great company and a wonderful way to spend a Sunday.Water was a stilla bit cold at 55 when we started and only came up 3 degrees. The water color never got to that green shade. It just stayed a bit muudy at the top of the tide with about 6 inches visibility on top. We saw some birds diving on bait and quickly paddled over to see if some fish were pushing them up but by the time we got there it was over. Anyway a great day and some beautiful weather. Couple of weeks and maybe the water will warm up. Not as produtive as ARW. Dammit! :smt006

Craig, the water did looked murky. BTW, how did you setup your shiner either for
trolling or drifting? Good luck next time.

Looks like a nice day on the water. Thanks for the report.

Is your bow hatch Crosslock open in the first shot? You might want to secure that.Or were you expecting to stuff a flatty in there? :smt002

Thanks for the report!

I may try again mid-week if I can swindle a day off of work.

Craig at least you got on the water today. It was a beautiful day out there. I feel you are going to land a super huge hali this year.

It sure was a nice day, the only thing that could have been nicer was a 'but in the boat. Like Craig said, the weather was perfect but the water conditions could have been much better. Next weekend the tides are better, there's no full moon, and no rain in the forecast to muddy the water and keep it cool, so I'm hoping that next Saturday will bring my first flatty of the year.

It was good fun to fish with Ravensblack again, and I'm glad that Theresa is coming out to fish a little more often. My evil plan to turn my wife into a fisherman is working!  :smt077 She's asking me to go fishing more often and every time we drive past water she's looking for signs of fish and asking what kind of fish are in the area. Now all I need to do is get her out on one of those lucky days when the bite is on and I think she'll be hooked!  :smt003

i got to paradise around 2:30 and anyone that was out was just leaving. i took my new t-13 out for it's maiden voyage and trolled frozen anchovies for about 3 hrs with no takers. it got windier as the day progressed but i was happy how the kayak and my gear handled it. it was nice to be on the water but some fish would have been nice

It happens to the best of us.  I wouldn't lose sleep about the ARW.  Those guys who all caught fish there have fished the rock wall for years and they know how, what, when and where to get the fish at that spot.  Its still super early for halibut. JTF
