Help me pick a yak fishing vehicle

Yeah - I was looking for an "expedition vehicle" for the weekends and I liked the Euro Van with the pop-up tent but it did not come in 4WD  
But like what Sean said, the "up-keep" can get pretty expensive.

I wanted to get the 4Runner as well but decided on the Tacoma instead = I needed room for toys and not passengers   Having the truck bed really makes life easier - as far as dumping toys like a mountain bike, snowboard, wetsuit, fishing gear...ect. (without stinking up the entire vehicle)

Sean - make sure you get the Tacoma with the extra cab - the extra room pays off  

Like Chuck, I'm a BIG toyota fan    I used to have a 97 toy pick up which I abused - it never let me down  

Bill - because you are a cool cat, I will support you with what ever decision you make on your new vehicle of choice...but if you don't get a Toyota =

I am a big Toyota fan, I owned a 4x4 Toyota PU before and it was great. I am leaning towards either a pickup or a 4runner. You can pickup a used 4runner for fairly cheap but it seems like everyone that has one puts a lot of miles on them.

In a previously life, I too owned a Toy ... a 1974 Toyota FJ40 with a nice Chevy 350 transplant and some other goodies.  She's was a nice shade of baby blue with all the obligatory primer and rust spots.  That was a long time ago back when I was a struggling graduate student.  Ah the memories.  I'd break that thing over the weekend, and spend all week trying to get it going again.  Wish I had the time these days.

I'm currently looking (or will be shortly) for an FJ55 project car.

GOTTA LOVE THE CLASSICS!  

Oh man ... the memories are flooding back.  I drove that thing from Seattle to Alaska and back on a 5 week trip.  Take note, never drive a short wheel base to Alaska.  The road heaves kill ya.  Camped and fished the whole way.  Took the inside passage ferry back and slept on the deck under the stars.  Oh ... the old days, I guess that was about 12 years ago now.

Wow i didnt know how cool this place really was I have a 69 fj40 2f with chevy 4.3 fuel injection saganaw stearing 33s and a ton of other stuff it is curently out of comission untill I replace the reer main seal then it should be good to go.
