I have a 10" gauge that my dad made for me and I'm beginning to wonder if it could result in a ticket. It is exactly 1/16" thick (cut from sheet metal I believe) and the edges aren't the smoothest, to say the least. I'll take a grinder to it to be safe, but what do you guys think? Technically a warden can't prove I used a 10" gauge that he doesn't approve of and the regs don't specify thickness or sharpness of the gauge, only the iron...

If I have a 7" gauge and my iron is up to code, I am in compliance, right? Anything else is above and beyond the requirements of the law, right? Maybe?

May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

Yes, Andrew, if you have your required gear with you (legal iron and 7" gauge) then you shouldn't be in any kind of trouble for hauling along the 10" gauge too.  The edges should only matter if you're trying to pull an ab with it, which you're not.

If you're into the 10 inch thing, however you gauge it is personal, haha.
