Thoughts on abalone opener...

Anyone going up? I plan on going up at least one day if weather permits. Somewhere between Ft. Ross and SPSP - location will depend on the conditions.

I  am going up to ocean cove campground wed april 1. i am going to set-up camp for the remainder of the week thru sun. if the ocean is happy i will be abdiving  and spearfishing from my yak. if she's cranky i'll be doing it from my boogie board or just hammin it up in the campground. i am going to try to hold some extra camp spots for any ncka brethren who care to join us. so come on up !! i have a blue ez-up that says ,"kayakjack" on it.

I was trying to make it out on opening day, but now can't.  So....Thursday 4/2 I'm confirmed for a day trip, shore dive in your vicintiy.  I'll come by ocean cove just to admire Jack's kitchen setup, that goes under that easy-up.

 

No opener for me . I need to work and we've got it sooooooooo. But I will be at Horseshoe on Saturday the4th and Sunday the 5th if the ocean conditions are right. Most of the time April is dicey to say the least. It could be windy as hell with good viz. As long as the swell is down winds not much of a problem. Clear cold, cold water is usually present. We will wait and see what Mother has in store.

looks like its gonna be pretty ugly on the sonoma coast this week so i'm gonna bail on the opener this year. save my waf points for another day.
