I am making an appeal to the Fish and Game commision to reduce the take of wild steelehad from 5 to 2 at lake Sonoma.  I feel I can prove that we have lost two straight year classes and the populations have decreased significantly.  There are some guys that don't respect or understand this is not a put and take fishery and these are not hatchery fish that get replaced every year.   I know a lot of you guys like fishing up here and I would hope that you repect the fact that there are far fewer fish up here than past years.  How can I garner your support as a group?

Hunt Conrad

You got my full support, how about a NO TAKE? I do like your idea.....do you fish from a kayak up there? most of us have already adopted this type of thinking and acting EVERYWHERE we fish.
How did the powerboaters react to your idea of the hopeful repect?

FH...looks like you are lighting a firecracker stuck up the fishes "private area."  Do you recommend this method for cleaning all the fish you take?  Seems a bit messy and gives flashbacks of the movie Jaws, on a mini scale.

I am finally getting somewhere with the Fish and Game commision in reducing the take limit of these Wild fish to two from Five. It has only taken 10 years of trying.

I am looking for supporters and/or detractor groups so that I can present a balanced presentation. I was hoping Sean White and his Kyack group would contact me but I haven't seen his name on any posts lately. I have DFG, Cal trout and TU along with some local fishing groups. any input would be appreciated...

it was a tiny lil firecracker...my knife has no tip, i needed to EXPAND the anus and it was the best of both worlds! A kinda celebration of sorts. I don't take fish, but WE were camping and had to feed ourselfs, since the bass weren't hitting. :smt044

It seems like there are plenty of actions to restrict fishing, without asking the fisherman to request the same thing (on themselves). Like Mickfish, I'd like to see some proof before I would encourage DFG to restrict my fishing even more while still increasing the cost of the fishing license (and tags).

Did you notice that it was Huntfish's first post here. I have doubts about him even being a kayaker, let alone a fisherman.

My $.02 anyway.

Hunt,
How can you prove two year classes have been lost?  I'm not saying I wouldn't support it (I probably would) but you'd probably need some pretty conclusive proof to change CDFG's mind because of revenue issues.

Well, one post, gets support, says there's data to prove two complete year classes of steelhead in Lake Sonoma, doesn't share data (I had doubts before, now its pretty unlikely he has any), never to be seen again, way to keep up a rep.
