HA! I forgot about flying my tent, I discovered it by accident and it worked like a charm, all I need next time is a bit of a tail and more line and I think I could get that sucker up 100 feet. And a lot of wind...

Al, you need to come up with some hull stickers of that avatar you use and those that survived can add hash marks underneath it for each storm survived! :smt044  (Like the old fighter ace's did on their aircrafts)
Troy, I'm ON it!  :smt044

the adventure back to the launch was just that. Even though i should have left somthing behind as in weight, my yal was still just as full of water as the trip in!

last pic.....aki getting ready to let the captian go down with HIS ship! She is smarter than we, and she knows which direction the shore/safety zone is!

After being dry and warm the last two days, iTHINKmyADDITUDEisCHANGINGforTHEbetter! :smt005
see you guys, girls , boys and you too Mooch   :smt008 at the next EVENT of MADNESS

Those things look like cargo ships!  That's some mad skills paddling in 30 mph winds with loads like that!  Nicely done, hopefully Gimmee Shelter will be a bit more forgiving!

Great camping & food, hysterical entertainment, met old friends and made new ones.

Thanks to
Frank & Mooch for organizing
Mooch, Al, Pat for paddling in over 200lbs of firewood
Andy & Mooch for making sure I ate
All the patient folks who let me try to teach them to flycast.

I had only planned on flyfishing CR for stripers for this trip, so I only had rigged one rod and no net. But on Sat AM after fruitless clouser flossing of some marks in Heron Bay in 40', and seeing trout on top, it was time for some real fishing. I flylined a 2" orange power grub from the Barbie pole, and during the windiest overcast periods stuck 5 trout during controlled drifts. The Barbie reel makes a fine bzzzzz when fish take line. I had a lot of PB for company, I don't think they realize how well their voices carry over water:

"Dang, look at that kayaker! He's got a fishfinder and a radio! But what the hell is that short rod? Is it pink??..."

My fellow NCKA'ers, there's no good answer to that; you can only hold your head more proudly as you work your Barbie pole.

Mike, it was great too meet you!  Thanks so much for the firewood that kept us warm through the HURRICANE!  I'll have to get a fly lesson from you some time, when there is less wind  :smt044

I just love this line, so I am going to borrow it for my signature  :smt005

CLASSIC and CLASSY!!  I too thank you Mike, if you didn't show with the 200lbs of wood, I think someone might have had a bad time. Thanks for bringing it and as soon as i heard help was needed, i stopped fishing and came straight home, but was too late, Darn It! :smt003
