I'm just passing the word... If you like Megabait live style jigs... check out "Mega Metal Jigs" on ebay from alltackledepot... they come from 1 1/2 oz. to 6 1/2 oz ... they are about a third the price of store bought including shipping... for an even better deal ... email them with a group order of ten or more.....Secret Pass Word....... "Gimme Shelter"

I bought about 60 of those same jigs at Ly's in San Jose last season.  2 for the price of 1 and priced between 3-4 bucks per piece they come in at about half the price as the ones on ebay. I was in there in jan for my license and the little sign still said 2 for 1.....prices should still be good.

diamond style jigs work great for rock fish and lings. Drop em down to the bottom and jig jig jig. I love em. I bought a lot of 70 used and new diamond jigs on ebay for 30 bucks. I don't think I'll be running out anytime soon. Good luck finding a deal that good haha.

Hard to say after last season.  We had a monster upwelling and the krill between Big Sur and Bodega was probably the thickest I've ever seen it. Most every trip had fish puking up the small shrimp so for the first time in a long time I rigged teasers and they outfished any iron almost 5 to 1.

If the fish get back on a baitfish diet I imagine the jigs will work fine.  The finish did scratch off pretty easy but an iron is not something I expect to last an entire season.

Just for the record I wasn't saying they they outfish any other type of lure. Sometimes I fish shrimp flies and sometimes I fish jigs. I like to run a shrimp fly above a diamond jig sometimes too. If I get more bites on the shrimp fly then I'll switch up to two flies. I seem to get more bites from the lings fishing jigs.
