Transducer Wedge Help

I am installing my matrix 17 and I need advice on wedging the transducer in.  The first time I tried to goop it I forgot to wedge it in so I am going to have to goop it again.  I was messing around with some stuff for wedges but I was having trouble getting the transducer to stay in one spot, it kept sliding up to the sides.  Any advice?

Instead of wedging it in place, I put lead weights on top of it... or I'll put a short piece of board on top of it and place lead weights on top of that to hold it in place.

I use a plastic garbage bag filled with sand as a weight...not only can you put a good deal of weight on top, but you can mush it around the 'ducer too

I also use a weight, usually a small dive weight, but Steve's idea sounds excellent.

I don't have any led weights that big do I think I will try the bag of sand.  How do I keep the bag of sand from getting stuck in the goop?

Yes but unfortunately no bags of lead shot.  I ended up using a bag of pea gravel.  It looked good when I put the bag on it and I have my fingers crossed that when I take it off at the end of the week it still looks good.  As always thanks for the help guys!

I've put mine in and out several times. I just duct tape it till it dries. Worked fine every time.
