Left the house at 9:30, got up there at 10:30, paid the fee's and hit water.  I saw some guys coming in and everyone said it was slow and half of them hadn't caught anything, not a good  sign.  I tried Rapala j-7 no luck, chartruese shad, no luck, purple worm, no luck, deep diving crawfish no luck, knastmaster...no luck, silver spoon, no luck, some other I don't know plug, no luck, threw some other stuff no luck. I hadn't seen anyone catch anything either.  As I returned tot he doc for the end of the day, two guys with in a rental boat who fish their often and brought one of those protable fish finder had a good day.  several catfish and one large trout approx 20 inches about 2 lbs.  He offered GF and I his fish, so I took it (some luck any ways).  He said he saw fish on the finder from 4 feet to 19 feet, and schools of bait fish with bigger fish hanging underneath.  But it was  aslow moving day according to just about everyone.  The place was full of boaters, hikers, walkers, runners, and somebody's kid who thinks screaming at the geese will get a response. On the year now 0-3, skunked again.

Here is a follow up on that fish....after baking the sucker in the usual way butter, salt , pepper rolled in foil.  GF the biologist/enviormental toxicoligist said it tasted like algae.  Definetly a stocked fish...blah

Thanks for the details!!  try a worm under a bobber next time, you seem to have forgotten that old one.
see the past post in the Recipies Section on "how to get the swamp taste out of a gifted Lafayette Trout"  :smt044 it might get you banned for life :smt009
......those trout in that DuckPond are soo0O0oo dumb&lazy (smart&hand-fed powerbait) they don't even know how or even want to chase a lure......but there are bigLMBass in those tullies that surround it.....your best bet for action there.
Another lake I love to hate&only 15min. away

I tired that too, well actually I had to improvise a worm under a bass plug, as I traveled light that day and made due with what I had.  I had been hoping to nail a LMB, I wasn't interested in the trout thing as much.  I trolled up and down the tullies.  I saw people with Catfish and trout, not a single bass.

if you EVER go again...and you're looking to hook a bass? Look for those open holes along the tulle lines or the less condensed spots along the same. They are hiding in there and will not come out. You MUST toss and deadstick a Senko right into the tulle wall, let it fall, if it does not fall, softly pickup your rod-tip(freeing it from being wedged between tulle) until it does fall to the bottom. Give it a "twitch" and let it sit there....repeat again. If no slurp or thud feeling, reel in and fling it again......they like them senkos and nothing else for some reason.

SEE THREAD JACK PIC of Senko and tulle hole.....just for inspiration! :smt044
