Nice fish-Where did you pick up the ruler?  I have been looking for one of those and I see many NCKA guys have them.

Alfredo.....immediately in back of the California State Fairgrounds I've seen what looks to be a slough area.....wondered about it's fishability, whether anyplace is deep enough to be both kayakable and fishable.

D'u know?

IF there was good water and fish
And IF (during the off-season) the Fairgrounds People would let you drive your car back to the RaceTrack building, park and carry over and down from the levee there.....it could be a very sweet setup.

Judd

Hey Judd,

That might be Bushy Lake your asking about. I've never seen it up-close. I checked google amps and noticed Ethan way might be the way to go. Looks like a parking lot there. Ethan way is east of the horse track.

I've checked out some of the other ponds and drainage sloughs back there during bike rides.
Some of them look a little nasty. I'll ride down the levy next time and take a look at the pond.

Here's a link to the map.

Al....that's it allright.....
Looks pretty shallow and weedy.
Unless a Sacramento flood water can come along and fill it back up...???...
It looks like a no-go.

Matt: I got my ruler, along with some other stuff, with last years AOTY schwag bag.

I've seen them at Cabela's too:

Sweet.  Thanks for the pointer.  Two healthy looking fish and you didn't have to drive far-sounds like a good time.
