Freediving/Spearfishing seminar in Santa Cruz

I'm thinking of signing up for a one day class for future/prospective freedivers/spearos.

I have no experience other than a bit of snorkeling, but I'd love to try my hand at this, and get a leg up with some good fundamentals. I don't have all the gear, but since this class is conducted in the pool, a 3/2 wetsuit and mask/fins/snorkel should suffice. I'm sure the Scuba center can provide gear as needed for rental. I'm guessing no spears involved at this level, so no need to bring body armor. Class is taught by "world renowned freediver" David Laird.

Posting here because it would be fun to have some other NCKA brothers (sisters?) along for the ride. Class is not free; cost is 110.00...I have no affiliation, just looking for fun here.
