Now that is impressive a 4-5 mile paddle one way to get sand dabs. I have yet to fish dabs out of the harbor. The only time I get out that far is to drop pots for a long soak.  :smt004

Sc X factor, you nailed it.  Just goes to show what this stunted rock cod season can do to a man.  I was determined to get out there and get something, even if it was just  a few tasty dabs.  This "sanctuary" business is not going to get the best of me.  Can I get a witness?

Stay in touch.  The Season Opener isn't that far off.  I keep my Yak at the SC Harbor for convenience.  Looking forward to going out with you.  I am just not comfortable going out by myself because of the obvious dangers.  The more people we have, the easier it will be to "Buddy Up".

khmunger, I'm with you.  I'll be going as soon as there is a break in the weather.

I still work during the weekdays but guaranteed, if the weather is good on the weekend, I'll be going out.  Shoot me a message.

WTTM...,  yes thank you.

Great Bass 2, I've got lots of good spots, from the canyon edges of Monterey Bay to Big Sur- but they're all LORAN numbers (before GPS).  I'll have to convert them.  Too bad though, most are out of range for a kayak.

WTTM and I'm sure you can and I HOPE YOU DO, educate some of us by sharing your knowledge of the ocean. Going from a boat to a Yak is quite a difference and it reads like your ON IT GOOD! :smt002

You haven't paddled with GB2 or ChuckE yet!  When you do, bring your passport.  :smt044
