It's definitely time to conserve your resources.

I got laid off in January. I filed for unemployent and after over a month and I havent recieved anything now they say I never sent in my form you fill out every week and now I am no longer eligible for it.

If you do get laid off, make sure you get your EDD (unemployment) paperwork submitted promptly and if you don't hear back fairly soon, call or contact someone and bug them.  Confirm that they got your paperwork.  Show up at the EDD office if you have to and remember the name of who you talked to. That way you hopefully have some kind of paper trail to fall back on and can prove you submitted the forms in time.  If they lost it, then you can resubmit another before the times up.  (Keep a copy of your completed form.)

I know my patients face similar problems if they don't submit medical disability forms to EDD promptly.  They won't retroactively recognize the application.  Everything seems to hinge on whether the forms are submitted close enough to when you got laid off to qualify.

The federal and state governments are running out of money and I'm sure the state workers that dispense the funds are feeling the heat to reject any claims that don't strictly meet criteria.  I am seeing patients that I put on state disability have their cases be reviewed by a third party for a second opinion.  This is something I have rarely seen in the past, making me think everything is being ratcheted down big time.
