Ok my NCKA Bretheren (and sisteren).

It is time again for the vaunted Sand Crab Classic, wherein mighty hunters pursue wily and fiesty little gamefish:  The Surfperch.

This  contest is the biggest thing in Santa Cruz each winter, and it fills up fast.

I want to give the NCKA's a heads up, so here tis.

Go to this page, download the form, and send it in as fast as you can.  We will be full by next week.  100 anglers only, due to fire code at the yacht Club.

Hope to see a bunch of you there this year!

Allen

It's really a surfcasting derby, but there's no rule againstusing a kayak.

Bad news is, though, it conflicts with the ATY gathering, so I guess most the NCKA guys won't be there.

I am bummed I will have to miss the awards ceremony.

Oh wait, is the SCC the same day as the AOTY awards ceremony? I can't find any info about the AOTY ceremony...but that would a present a conflict of interests.

Actually (secret) if you wanna get in, pm me with your email address.

We're going to open it up next year with a different venue for banquet. I can slip a few more people in this year even though we've reached the 'limit' and would love to have more of the crew...yakuza?  Sincoast?  bill?  Mooch?

Or better, email me at scruzfishing@yahoo.com, then i can send the reg form to you as an attachment, it won't be up on the website, website says registration is closed (which it is, closed that is)

Oh, and the shirt this year is new art.  unbelievably good.  Done by none other that Jimbo Phillips, famous NHS artist (screaming hand).

I've seen the art and it is AWESOME!!!! worth the entry fee just for the shirt, not to mention the tacos!

One of these days I'd like to enter, but truefully, my confidence in being able to catch surf perch is really low!  Last 4 times out only 1 dink!  So, until I learn to read the waters better, ain't gonna happen.

My record this year:  6 times, one dink...you're doing better than I...haha

Eally  gets going laer in the season.

fun part is, when you're on em, it canbe non-stop action.

Generally end of jauary through April or so  is the 'season'
