I just rigged my anchor trolley and I'm ready to go. When is the next outing? Is anyone going during the week? Do I need a live tank for shrimp or can I use a bait buckeDay        High      Tide  Height   Sunrise    Moon  Time      % Moon

Hey amphib-

Not sure when others are going out next but one thing I wanna do is get a few of us out to the area near Martinez where Fuenstock has caught a couple from his PB - we need to get him outta the boat and into the yak!

Are those Oakland tides you posted? Thurs looks like a good swing that gets things moving.
No tank or bait bucket needed for shrimp. Just keep 'em cool & damp with seawater. Wet newspaper is a good bedding for them - bait shops often give them to you that way. Refrigerate 'em if you have to keep 'em overnight.

Hope to hook up but good luck when you go out, regardless.

Stop by Norm's Bait Shop in Vallejo. They open at 6:00 am. Follow the signs from I-80 to the ferry and before you get to the ferry you'll see Norm's on your left at the Vallejo Public Boat launch. This seems to be one of the only places in the bay area that consistently has ghost shrimp. The owner claims to have some sort of "connection." I don't doubt it because every time I hear that nearly every other shop in the bay area is out of bait, she always has plenty.

Amphibian,

Do you have any pictures of your anchor trolley? I am working on one for my yak and I am trying to get a few ideas from other installs.

Thanks

Gator I will find the post from Mooch that inspired me. I copied his set up except I rigged mine to just work from the back. I may upgrade to front/back later. It's very simple and doesn't require any pulleys.

I'm hoping to get to OAP late this week -- weekend.

I should be rigged up by then. But I'm a newb. Where is the launch point? I'm about 2 hours from the airport.

Most shrimp do real well if you soak some newspaper, and put it in a small cooler with a blue ice to keep it nice and cool. Put the shrimp in the newspaper. They should be kickin all day. Easier than hasseling with a bait bucket.
