Yea John I didn't mind it too much at first it was amazing to watch I've seen seals get fish before but to see how fast they are in such shallow water was unbelievable, but once the tide dropped the Steelies didn't have much of a chance they were getting some big fish. I hope the Slivers are past them if they can catch steelies then the Silvers must be sitting Ducks. Took the dog out yesterday and there was a couple of seals below the Hacienda Bridge. How are the flows on the A
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Brutal

Maybe they should put fb barriers downstream

Fishing salmon up on the Rogue they were a major curse but it makes it sweeter when you win   On the ocean you might as well pull your gear if one starts shadowing you

Nice report, got my heart pumping

Mike - flows on the AR have been held steady at about 1000 cfs for at least a year as far as I can recall, except for a period during the summer when they were ramped-up for ag use. Folsom is extremely low - somebody was saying that many of the foothill reservoirs were at 30% or so of capacity (need to check these numbers).  Last snow survey results I heard about from a friend from 2-3 weeks ago were that the snowpack was at 50% of normal in the northern Sierra and 98% in the southern Sierra.  No storms since then and none that I am aware of on the horizon so those percentages have dropped - things ain't looking so good.

Any serious discussion of control or harassment of seals on the RR?  I realize that lethal control would be impossible because of politics, but harassment (other methods?) might be possible - similar to the Columbia. Given that the RR supports populations of native steelies, kings, and now with coho reintroduction efforts, coupled with all of the efforts going towards management and recovery of salmonids on the RR it seems like a reasonable option to add to the management strategy. Maybe Joe and Sean or the other fish bios can also weigh-in here?
