Then there was the time.......
A bunch of us were at BeanCamp(3dayWING'out) It was the last day, the Sunday and we were in a large group, over the "DoubleSecretReef". The bite was ON and everyone was getting bit! I hook'd something that just grab'd and pulled me damned near off the side of my YAK! I started to fight, talk and try to keep this thing from continuing to kick my ass. It made 5 hard runs back down. I finally got it to color, BIGGEST Ling I ever seen(on my jig) got it into the net, the hook was DEAD-CENTER in her upper-lip and burried deep. I struggled for what felt like 5min. trying to unhook it. Finally I get it freed, no lip or bogagrip on it yet, SOMEONE :smt011 behind me yells out "hey Adam! lift that thing up so we can see it!" Not thinking, I follow the request and lift it over my head, and take a guess what it did. That's RIGHT! It made one hard body thrust, I lost grip, it bounced off my head, into my lap, i tried to bear hug she lap-danced, then she TAIL SLAPPED my face, on her way back into the drink....I cried and they all laughed at me.

....but before I farmed that Ling, RelentlessDave had already had a little blunder of his own. This one will fall under the Most Heartbreaking&I FUC'D UP Moment (for anutha brutha) Same day, same reef, same laughter! I remember hearing, Hey! what the hell do I got here?! It's pulling my Kayak! I turned to say, "it's a big Ling, just reel in up" but Dave was getting pulled into the current and heavy wind by this MYSTERY BEAST!
We all followed, as he fought it for about 5min or more, then all of a sudden, BINK! undone! no broken lines or snapped hooks? We all said WTF?! and paddled our different ways. Ten minutes later dave radios to let us know he thinks he knows what the FUC happened. It was a BRAND-NEW 10in.KalinsGrub and he did not see the HOOK GAURD! The beast was never hook'd.....We all laughed, while he did not!, but then later he did.

Most Best Suprised Fish: a FAT&PIGGLY GRASS Rockfish from the Bean....I thought I had a ??

pic1~My Most STUPIDEST ACT on the water in the world all I got was this Bendo shot to show for it....GOOD TIMES!

pic2~ Dave getting pulled into the wind.

pic3~ Bean Grassy that snorted like a hogg, I swear!

well Troy! that trip falls into:The MOST MISERABLE 26hours I ever *fished(Great time doing everthing else) It was raining from the first two hours I got there, didn't stop until the next afternoon. I took NO PICS! can you believe that?! I was WET,COLD, and WET.

and I saved the Best for Last!
Closest I Ever Got To Pissing In My FarmerJ.

pic1~ o2b-Allen got an Eagle in 100ft of water at Ft.Ross this day. He yelled out I got something HEAVY ON! He had somehow threaded this rock with his jig. Being the FunGuy he is, he gameclip'd it to show off later and laugh about on shore. As we all came in and were pulling our yaks up the beach, Allen suddenly drops his yak, leaving it unattended, as he turn his back to it,his good sun&all-around FunGuyII, picks up a Real_Rock(est.wgt.@ 50+lbs), puts it in his seat and covers it with the PFD, Allen turns to see Patrick walking away from the deed and says," Hey! What the Hell are you doing? Patrick replies,"Nothing, just lookin at your nice rock you hooked, is there a limit on those?, I think it's two". As I tried hard not to laugh too much, it was just too hard to keep in. I turned and watched Allen struggle with every step he took. I knew it was gonna get funnier when he hit a tiny bump in the trail and his yak came to a complete STOP! He had this look of disbelief as it stopped, he had to take a good look at his wheels to see if they were FLAT! That's when he began to say," Jesus!, I got Patricks' Ling in here and it's heavy as hell!! as he waddled up the trail, backwards and  going side-to-side, I kept him distracted by talking to him as i didn't have the heart to stop a shoot a pic(or to tell him) I was close to a BladderBurst when Patrick said, "I can't wait to see that rock you caught" and I could no longer keep it all in and I just dropped to the ground in laughter!!

pic2~ I sure am getting weaker or maybe my rock grew to full size? see the butterflied wheels about to pop!

pic3~ Allen first Rock limit. These two guys are about the fun(niest) two guys you'd ever meet.....and since I spent a significant time with them this year.. my life will never be the same again......FORtheBETTER&forReal_! :smt044

Yeah it was the second time I decided to join you folks on a campout and it rained on us again!    One of you's is cursed!  I'm not sure how I'll handle camping with you folks again if it's not raining!  I must admit though BAM IV was much more tolerable than Chilling (literrally) at Del Valle was!

I seemed to have forgotten this one. Saving it for the Real_Last but not Least.

Most Relieved after a CPR the Hail Mary of All-HAILMARYS'!! this 47"SlottedSturgeon fromChinaCamp on the next-to-last-day I could fish in 2008.
....as we sat out there for the whole day, pulling bait from the mouths of thieving pests, o2bAllen says that he brought me a VictoryCigar to enjoy after I hook my target. I told him that if I catch a Sturg' today, I'll strip down naked in my kayak, holding the fish, smoke that cigar and you can take pictures of the whole thing.....I did have the excuss of it being cold AND I "WAS  in the WATER :smt005

Allen must have forgotten, cuz if he would have mentioned it when we were measuring that thing, IwouldHAVehadTOkeepMYword! so it's a good thing he forgot! and we're all the better off NOT seeing me naked, cold, wet and bleeding form all those sharp thorns they have.

Lets ALL Hookup throughout the next year to Fish,Chill,Camp and generally "eff" off!

pic1,2&3~ thought you had escaped, eeeh? this was NOT one of my Most Funny Moments, but I sure laughed loud, knowing you'd be just fine, wet!, but just fine. :smt006

I love it.
Very nice recap Adam.

Seriously, 417 miles??? Day-um...puts my puny 14 days OTW to shame...

...but gives me motivation for this year!

Looking forward to more adventures to the DSR and elsewhere. We need to recapture the "one that got away". I think it's right near a big halibut that self-released that same day.
