Here are some pictures from the installation of a Raymarine DS500 X on my Tarpon 120.

Installation considerations- no holes in kayak, transducer on keel line, transducer outside hull, fishfinder unit bracket for future items

Transducer Bracket - I fabricated a bracket for the transducer to utilize the existing rudder mounting nuts in the kayak. The white spacer between the transducer bracket and rudder bracket was needed to keep the rudder blade from hitting the paddle wheel. The transducer is mounted about 1/4" above the keel line to hopefully keep it out of harms way.

Transducer Cable - I ran the cable under the existing cord hooks in the rear well. I then notched the right hand rod older to run the cable under the deck avoiding a new hole. I used some silicone to seal the rod holder, this is the only portion of the install that I am not 100% satisfied with.

Fishfinder Bracket - Using some mild steel stock, I fabricated a bracket that mounted using the existing forward pedal mounting holes. I will ultimately mount a GPS on the right side of the bracket.

Power Source - I found a 12V/7.5Ah sealed gel battery and charger on-line for less than $50. I place the battery in a waterproof marine bag and strap it in the front hatch. I have been able to fish for 10+ hours on one charge.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions (or advice) on the install. I am planning on building a cart for the yak next, I simply have not been able to find the wheels to build it around.
