Went out to Bodega Friday PM to check Pro Dives wet suits.  Tried a Yasbeck on for size.  Too big.  Rolled up to Shell Beach for some Abs.  This about 3PM.  It was nasty enough to stay between the big rocks in the middle of the cove.  There is plenty of Abs there.  I'd left my flashlite in the car and the 6" vis eliminated any chance for finding an Ab.  While I was puttering  around there a set of 8' to 10' rolled thru.  After that set I swam back to the beach.  Lucky no big ones came thru then.
Anyway the moral of the story is the last Abs for the season need to come from Salt Pt area for any vis.   DcBatt

Thanks for the advise Craig.  I've seen some big Abs south but yesterday going south even 100'  would be asking for a whipping.  I've spent a little time diving the next beach south, "No Name beach".  Probably eaten 1000 oysters there.  My buddy always got the 10' leaving me with the left overs.
I bicycled today over Coleman valley and when I dropped to Hwy 1 out of the fog the swell was very impressive.   No surfers were braving it though.  Why is that?  Probably the 9 sets of trashed breakers to beat thru to get to the outside one.    DcBatt
