The 29 year old missing diver was located after 2pm on Monday a week after going missing at Fort Ross. Appearently he was found pretty close to the location he went missing and where the CG had been searching. I was sent a link to the article today by a friend, I'm sure more information can be found on line or in some of the local media sources. Sounds like a drowning death since no other information was given until an autopsy is performed.

Here's a link to the article. Not a lot of info. I think everyone that knew I was at Fort Ross sent me this today:

That's a shame.  And at 29.......that's way too young.

Wow - I got two calls that day from friends who thought it might be me. I just can't imagine what would possess someone to go out in 14 foot swells. That's a shame.
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

That's Sad and sorta freaky to think we were fishing over the top of him on Sunday.

I wonder how many people have not died because of what they have learned from resources such as this site. I didn't know anything about the ocean before joining here. I wouldn't have had a clue what was safe and what wasn't. I didn't even realize there was day to day variation. I just thought the ocean is the ocean unless there is a storm (I grew up in Texas shore fishing the Gulf of Mexico occassionally).

There is no doubt in my mind I would have gotten myself into trouble on the ocean if not for what I have read on here and what I have learned from fishing with the NCKA crowd.

I don't go near the water now without checking conditions, wetsuit, pfd, radio, gps, goretex in a dry bag, telling my wife where/when etc. Thanks NCKA buy yourself a beer my kids appreciate it.
Everybody dies, not everybody lives. What did you do today?

This sometimes can be interpreted as even when diving with a buddy they can only point to where the body was last seen. The sea takes and the sea gives. Sometimes not to our liking or desires.God bless all who die during their passion for life and adventure.

That's a shame.  Not to be a downer but I won't dive.  I had a cousin who was an outstanding athlete, he had done the Iron Man in Hawaii several times & was in his 50's.  Had a great family & it was the same story, he was out by himself in La Jolla of all places, he passed away & it was kind of a mystery.

Too bad, be careful everyone.
