I haven't seen any Hook-ups or Reports on this years shortened Sacramento River Season, so I though I'd share some links to stimulate interest and generate some of that AOTY drama that I like to see on the board.

The big ones are in and they are catching them....Guide Report.

Here is proof of a 51", yes thats 255 pt AOTY fish in the Sacramento River System.  Could of been a new State Record.

Same fish different angle picture:

Don't know if the river is blown out after the last storm or not, but I'd love to hook into a 51" salmon on a Yak.

I can't belive the DF&G opened the Sac, I think we should just leave them alone

We have all had a bummer this year with no salmon. So if the DFG opens it up, why not fish it? Someone will.

Craig, I don't think that is what Mickfish, Bluefin, and Z were saying, but I could be wrong.  I think they were expressing their dismay that DFG would even think about opening it up, especially since we'd left the little fishies alone all summer while out in the ocean.

It's supposedly a different run of fish , late fall / winter run that has a good return and is not endangered . STILL DON'T MAKE A LOT OF SENSE TO ME ?

Ummm ... the Sacramento River Winter Run Chinook are an ESU and do have "endangered" status.

i never understood the appeal of late targeting those ratty 'boot' salmon waaay upstream.  those dark fish taste like $hit from what i've been told.
