Looks like you caught "St. Elmo's fire" or the Green Flash in that last sunset shot!   The sun appears to be a Little high yet, (It's actually way below the horizon at this point, the atmosphere is bending the suns light around the earths surface)but I think I see something at the very top of the sun disk where the disk has started to flatten out.  Good job!  Reads like a great trip!
You needed to camouflage that snare a little better, perhaps with a loop of a net?

Howdy Fishunter,
I went out on Saturday at Gerstle and agree those were BIG breakers out there. Fishing was real slow so was ab diving. We went out after fsihing for a while to a spot that is usually always nice and protected but not so this weekend. It was a washing machine that made me glad I brought a nice steak along for dinner. Almost all our group diving was skunked because of 1/2' vis and rough coniditon but a couple guys were good enough to grab some limits so we did have some ab for dinner. Camping was excellent all weeknd even though that ocean didn't co-operate with me.

Allen/ ot2be' said that was you after we were dry-docked. I saw you guys talking out there, but my rectum was too tight(scared shitless) to paddle over to engauge in the conversation. The weather was GREAT!  until Sunday morning fog rolled in.  I agree camping was excellent, even though the ocean was rough.
see you somewhere soon Dr.H.

Great pic's, sorry the ocean didn't cooperate. But any day up there without wind is a good one.

i thought i deshelled an Ab at first, but then it kinda resembled something I used to blow out of my sinus cavities, during my year long infections from the polluted waters of the NorCalCoast......ahhhh, the memories :smt011

I'm surprised anybody went out this weekend. Davenport was epic. No wind, sun, large waves and nice scenery. The waves were scary because the sets sometimes were 20-30 minutes apart. 8 foot faces, then huge scary waves 2 or 3 times as big. Especially in the afternoon when the tide went out.
My buddy lost his boat to the ocean on saturday, and on sunday he got smashed into the rocks on a borrowed boat. If you want to read a little about it, check out boatertalk.com-->forums-->surfzone. I think Geoff is the guy that posted the most pictures. It's probably a good thing they kept you out sunday.

Great pics Adam, remember when I used the tripod and the fireworks setting? Got to try that some more.
Eric- thanks, not done yet, I should have got a pic of the astro-turf rolled out and the coolers out.

Always a pleasure fishing with the one and only fishunter and my padre, even with racing monster swells.  Fishing was real slow all day, just kept trying new spots and hoping the bite would change.  I was bouncing the extra big stuff (8oz) on the shallow pinnacles around the kelp edges.  I managed one 28" ling, one gopher, and a mini china.

You guys scored on the camping!!! The weather was perfect, no wind to speak of, uber rare.  It sure was nice around camp and really wished we would have packed to stay.  Looks like you and the girls (nice to meet both of you!) really made the most of it.  nicely done.
