Been spending alot time on the water just paddling and watching BASSCAR struggle.  The conditions are slowly improving so Ive done a little fishing here and there. There is a nice mix of frog water and the clearer water off the points.
Otters are everywhere and they are working the weed lines. There is a ton of silver in the water and the greebs are capitalizing. There are occasional blow ups on the silver clouds, some largemouth and some catfish, but I havnt witnessed a full on feeding frenzy yet.
Yet is the operative word.
There is still a frog bite but its slow and with so many otters hunting in the weeds Ive been focusing on my deeper haunts.
This is also the time of year that disneyland is closed due to low water levels but I get the educational benefits of scouting where fish hangout when the water returns.  For now Ill be working the deep rocks with swimbaits and jigs.
Its been awhile since Ive reported ,for multiple reasons, but I recently brought out the vanity mount to keep my skills and took a few pics of the healthy looking bass of the clear lady.

Looked like a nice day out there.  Wish I could be there for a feeding frenzy!

Nice fish Bro, my son and I will be out there again once we get a few storms in.  I love the winter time fishing there, less people too.  Nice fish!!

If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

If you were going for frogs......would you do it at night?

I hear bullfrogs out in the delta but as I approach (in my kayak) they
fall silent......I never sight them.

WTG on the LMB Hydrospider. What is with the green stuff on the water? It looks
really thick. Sorry for the newbie question.

those are seasonal blooms of guacamole bay. Its just a cheezy slime that floats on the surface and goes great with tortilla chips. the water beneath is surprisingly clear and it looks kind of creepy when things are swimming beneath it. I actually know very little about the different blooms of this lake except that they wont be around much longer and the viz and sight fishing will return.
so much to learn

here is another standard issue from the vanity practice
