Hit Paradise again yesterday after work. Had the place to myself for an hour or so, then a few PB started to show and eventually a couple party boats hit too. Made bait first, that's always a good start. Caught 4 nice sized shinners and got the urge to go soak em, so I made do with 4. After about an hour I get a rap and then a slow pull down, set up and fish on. this one comes in with no problems,  :smt003 Keep moving around the area and after a while I get one sharp rap and then the line goes slack. Now that's always a good sign. Reel up to tension and set the hook, nuther hali on board with out incident. I drifted almost to the cay before turning around with the tide and started the long haul back, and of course the wind starts. So I'm peddling and peddling and the winds getting stronger and so is the current. Now I'm hardly making any headway, and the rod starts to twitch a few times, I'm trying to wait and see, but the wind and tide are fighting me so much I decide to reel up and see what's up. Start to feel tension so I set up. Line starts peelin' off! Damn! this ones big! I pump it up a couple times and finally get it near the surface for a look and I see about a 1/4 sheet of plywood sized sand colored hali!!! I've got Fat Bastards' sista!!!! Then it takes off for another dive and then I feel that sickening babump and the line goes limp...Reel up to find a straightened out treble... :smt013 :smt013 :smt013. By far the biggest one I've had this year. I try working the last shinner for a couple minutes in the area, but the wind and tide are like an arm wrestle, so I pack it in. On the way in a seal comes along and starts eyeballin' me, so I pulled in my brace of halis before he comes along and makes a grab for it, and headed for shore. This close to a hat trick... :smt012 Be thinking of that one for a while... The other two were around 27-28"es. Had a great day out there, and by the look of things there are still more days of halis in the bay.

Way to go Glynn, Your streak is alive and well. The question is, would you rather lose a fish without seeing it or lose a big fish after seeing it.....heart break either way.

WTG on the hali jonesz. Do you ever fish Paradise on Saturdays? If so, I'd join you. I need more yak hours before I try the ocean again. Newbie here not use
to the swell yet.

It's Glyn. Just had to be different  :smt002
I'd still rather get a glimse than wonder.
Last year I hooked something almost unstopable in the ocean and never saw it. Definetly plays with the mind more...
Might fish this Saturday, don't know yet.
I hit Salt point today with a buddy and got the biggest red of my life. It was like the one Ed got up at Elk this year. Huge!! Fought like hell.

SWEET!....put a heavier lanyard on it and a BIG RED salmon float....then attach it to your PFD!....when ever you take it out....it should always get returned the it home..YOUR PFD!    the red ball will make it float and make it easier to locate, after you misplace it...but, that's not gonna happen again, because.........see above.
I keep mine in a soft case and it stays in there 24-7!

I'm gonna pass on this Saturday. Crap around the house to do is piling up, so I'm going to be working around the house this weekend. You should go though. They still seem to be around.
