You'll notice the fishcount is 13 rockcod an two lings.  Before anyone gets their wetsuit in a bunched up wad, Zisco was kind enough to gift three of his smaller cod, so its all legit.  Thanks again for that!

Also note that if youre going to fish LK, be prepared for a gear and catch inspection.  Mr. Ranger looks you over pretty good.

^^^

I believed the law is base on possession and not daily limits.

I was reading one of those F&G booklet I got at a fishing expo and it told a story about a F&G officer seeing the same truck at the same fishing spot. One day, the officer followed the guy home and asked to search the house. Over 100+ trouts were found in the frig and the guy was busted for possessing over the limit.

I just looked thru the F&G booklet ...

27.60. Limit.
(a) General. No more than 20 finfish in combination of all species with not more than 10 of any one species, may be taken or possessed by any one person except as otherwise provided or as defined in sub-section (c) below or in Section 195. See sections 27.70 through 28.62 for special bag limits, minimum size limits and poundage restrictions for certain species that apply in addition to the general bag limit. ......

Also, this is my first post and I would like to say HELLO! I picked up a 2008 Tarpon 160i on Saturday and I'm planing to try kayak fishing with in the next few weeks. One of the reason I got interested in kayak fishing was seeing two guys launching their kayaks off Limekiln State park and coming back with fishes! If you guys see this, Hello! I'm the asian guy with the Lance camper borrowing your plier.

If you had read all of the posts, you would have read that Yakuza and Kevin carpooled together to Limekiln. Taking a picture of all of the fish does not make it possession by one person. And you don't know when one person gifted any fish to the other.

And I don't see where possession in the home would make a catch illegal. You don't know where or when those fish were caught, whether it be 10 or 100.

FYI - The DFG considers game in your freezer as in your possession. The same limits apply. I have seen fish and game search warrants conducted at peoples homes. However, these are generally for very flagrant violations and usually someone has turned them in (a witness).
So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains, where the spirits go...........

Yup. Thems the rules.
Although, you could have gifted the first 2 to your wife, mom, etc. And then kept the ling caught in week 2, which would mean YOU have 1 lingcod in your possession. Granted, there are 3 lings in the freezer now, but two are possessed by your wifee. I gift fish to my wife and son all the time LOL.

hi,

just to clarify again, half of these fish went home with Martin.  the other half was prepared, consumed, digested, ect...

I believe the fish are now in the possession of the SJ Water Company who runs the sewer system in our area.  It should be noted their form-factor is likely very different from the pics.

I did read the posts! I wouldn't have cared but someone mention it and I pointed out the rules.

If it was two people, he wouldn't mention his statement at all. But since he said this, you can imply .. he caught 10 rockcod and 3 was given to him to make it seen like he didn't catch all 13 rockcod. I guess that's how I read it and I pointed the rules out for him.

Martin -

Sweeet report. Sorry about the lost iron. Looks like you followed some of my suggestions and it paid off. At least you got ypur fish back. I lost a whole stringer there in the surf. And who are you kidding,  :smt005 of course you will return to Big Sur.

We had seen the boils the week prior from Mill Creek and I chased them around a while. I looked hard for wsb dorsal fins and saw none. I have seen numerous ones out of Capitola this year. The fish looked smaller and faster than wsb. I was thinking of Mexico when seeing skipjack blast through bait balls. I still have to think it was Baracuda.

Another possible culprut: bonito! Guys were catching them consistently in Carmel a few years ago. And I just heard some have been caught inside Monterey Bay within the last week.

that sounds like a good guess! known surface feeders and smaller.

I didn't know so cal was so close!  :smt001

bonita and barracuda both will bite on smaller chrome spoons like a 1.5 oz kroc is my understanding.

I did once hook a barracuda in capitola from a zodiac in an el nino year (jointed spoonbill rebel trolled very fast), and I have caught a lot of atlantic ones from the yak, but not from the yak in the pacific.
