I originally had plans to go fishing on Sunday with my dad at Fort Ross.  Saturday night we changed our minds and went ab diving instead.   We went to our usual spot that is  near a rock that looks like a "Planet of the Apes" Statue (near Fisk Mill Cove- pic 1)

The conditions were no where near as nice on Sunday as they were on Saturday (pic 2).

On about my third dive, I saw something unnaturally blue laying on the bottom.  It turned out to be a pole spear (you can see part of it in the top of pic 3).  After I got my limit of abs, I swam around for a few minutes looking for sizable fish to try it out on, but had no luck.

Over the years I've found and lost or left behind a fair amount of gear, freediving seems like a gear exchange sometimes.

Good to see someone is getting out.

I've spent allot of time in and around Fisk Mill cove but I don't ever remember seeing anything like that ape rock pic, does look like one of the stars in planet of the apes.

I donated a pole spear 14 Summers ago along the northern Lost Coast.  I still feel like I might find it out there, but someone probably already did.  Cool report, Jason.   :smt001

Nice report and pics.  Planet of the apes still haunts me to this day--think I saw it when I was nine?
