Got an early start (like 10:00ish) due to dawdling of my co-fishers, and remembering that I didn't put the paddle in the truck till I was half way to the lake. Buggy-bumped down to the water as the Folsom is as low as I've seen it ever. There was a stiff breeze which made the drifts fast. The real reason for the trip (aside from going stir crazy in the house) was to test out the new depth finder. This one is a keeper. Finally saw some fish markings. Actually managed to catch one on a darthead - new concept in my world.  Here's the pictures of the crew and proof that there are fish in Folsom.

Hope everyone had as wonderful a day as we did. Time for beer!

Cheers!

Good looking crew!
Nice to see some fish and someone willing to brave the heat!

I keep looking at the water, thought I saw a salmon this morning from the bike bridge...it was a log  :(

Keep it up

Nice report... yup... folsom is super low. I keep the kayak ready in case I get off work early enough to get a couple of hours in. Where did you end up launching at?

Ya one of my coworkers lives along the lake and says that its almost a pond!
Nice report and one heck of a crew!

Keep it up

Two weeks ago on the river my buddies and I came upon probably a 25lber (36" +) floating by the shore. It was below sunrise between the waking bridge and Elmanto, so they are coming up. Also that weekend while we were diving ,we saw a couple of decent size striper's at San Juan.

Freddie,

I live up here in Roseville so I launch at Granite Bay. Drive in towards Doton's Point and down. The fish are hanging on front edge of the points and on the humps when the wind blows up the canyon. It would be better earlier as the wind blows you pretty fast past the productive fishing areas.

I can't complain as usually a trip to the lake means about 10 minutes of fishing and the rest of the time swimming and playing fetch. This time I actually fished and hour. The magic lures are 4-1/2" Roboworms in Prizm Shad.

Thanks again for the compliments on "the crew". Living proof that ugly men can produce beautiful daughters.
