Launched solo in southern big sur this AM, after watching the San Martin bouy wave height trend lower and lower, even with high wind warnings for this eve.  For the sake of entertainment, I'll call this place Canon Perdido.   :smt003 :smt003 :smt003

It was a hot bite, very productive.  The Blues were big and bold, and they even kept 4oz of lead making it to the bottom @ times.    First fish was a 22" 7+ lb vermillion.  You can see him in the pics.  He dwarfs the 24 1/4 inch ling that I got.    Lost some other big boys too, as well as making several terminal tackle contributions.  I released 4 fish for every one I kept.  The standard blues, vermillions, browns,  gophers and a barely legal ling.

It was a bit bouncy out there, but it was fun to look at all of the boiler rocks (see pics, and the bird life).

More fish tacos tonight!!!!

Nice looking fish and ocean. Is that a scupper pro?

Yep, its a scupper pro, handles great in the surgey big sur conditions, and it covers the water nicely, especially if theres wind.

Its kind of a boulder launch, but the kelp keeps the swell predicable.
