i live in hayward.  i go to oakland and san jose occasionally.  i don't know any local dive shops or kayak stores.
Have you checked Captain Aqua's Dive Center at 250 Jackson St. in Hayward?

That's where I bought mine.

Question for those of you WITH a game clip.  I know that some clips come with a lanyard or webbing already attached but mine didn't.  Those that have a clip like mine, how are you securing it to your yak?  I've got rope but also have the knot tying skills of a 6 year old boy. :smt009   I'd like something clean and sleek.  Anybody have suggestions or pictures?

Indeed they do.  That is where I got mine.

I use a desired length of rope with a loop tied at one end and a spring clip on the other.
Just make sure the loop is big enough for the spring clip to pass through.
Run the rope through the small end of the game clip, then the spring clip through the loop. Pull tight and the game clip is now secured with the rope and you can attach the spring clip wherever you need it.
This way I can easily take the rope off the game clip when I want to use it for something else.

I keep two clips in my tankwell, looped to midship padeyes with cord, using endloops tied with the overhand knot http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overhand_loop. the cord is long enough that I can transfer the clip from the tankwell where it usually resides to the front hatch for surf landings, so about 6 or 7 feet of cord. having a clip on one end of the rope can make it easier to attach and de-attach the clips from the padeye or whatever your attachment point is, for carrying fish from the yak to the cooler.

If I am landing in some surf I will take the clip of fish and put it inside my drift chute and stuff it all in the front hatch.  or as many as will fit, the rest can take their chances in my tankwell. my drift chute is PVC coated canvas, a cheapie. putting the fish in there minimizes slime transfer to other stuff in there like my rods.

I try to keep one clip free for a big hard to handle fish like a halibut. or else a valuable fish like a ling or extra big verm. sometimes a number of big verms will overflow from one stringer to the free one. oh well, there are worse problems!

a pair of clips is pretty handy, unsecured fish can get lost on landing, plus you can keep count easy with them on a clip, not to mention if it's a hot day you can keep them in the water as much as you dare to keep them cool.

That's what i did.  Most hardware stores carry brass spring clips with stainless springs that seem to hold up really well.

However I've recently decided to add a float to my game clip line just in case the clip ever fails.

Hi Yakers:

I picked up my  large SS Clip at Diver Dans' off of El Camino and San Tomas for $14.99. I like using my Game Clip for the RF because, the Clip keeep my Hands clear of the Spines.
I keep my fish alive and fresh overboard most of the time except when I'm heading in. I bark at the Seals and than seems to keep them away! :smt005 . I try not to  think of Sharks because, there is no point
about worring about if you going to Die.

Like J, I like carrying two clips for pretty much the same reasons.  I keep the unused clip open and ready to slip through gills of my next big fish.  For leashes, a 2' to 3' bungee cord works well for me.  It absorbs some of the shock of a big angry fish hanging over the side.
