I met up with HobieBlue and Sumo 152 this morning at first light for some delta bass hunting.  Conditions were great at sunrise with no wind and a little chill in the air, causing a light fog to hang over the water.  The only thing working against us was the tide, last part of the outgoing giving about two hours before the low.  In those two hours I managed a few frog fish, the biggest at 5lbs.  The best part of the day was when I realized that Sumo (Ben) left his self-proclaimed "skunkiness" at home and put the steel to a 7 pound, nine ounce hog on the frog.  I'll put up the pics and let him and Bryan, who put on a crank bait clinic, give you the details.  All and all it was a fun outing with plenty of fish caught on a challenging tide, nice fishing with you guys.

Kevin and Ben...it was a great morning fishing with you.  Congrats on the big froggin' fish you two hauled in today.  I wasn't able to get a fish on the topwater, but had a nice day catching a few quality fish on the crankbait.

Here are the pics.

Pic1: Kevin shows off his froggin' skills with this nice big bass.
Pic2: a solid 4 pound, 11 ounce bass on the crankbait.

Have a nice week...see you soon.

Awesome day out there, guys!  Personal best, skunk is off, and first fish on the frog bite!  Not to mention outstanding company and ideal conditions.  The 7lber definitely looked bigger in my net.  I was thinking it was 10+!  Maybe next time.

Xsquid covered water like a madman, and Hobieblue stuck with the crankbait ALL DAY!  Patience pays off.  See you guys next time!
