Anyone reading DaveT's report on Coastside (we found em!!!!jul 24)must be asking the same question. how do i get onto the water near bonita cove. now i brace myself for the flood of stern warnings about the currents/wind in this area. but if well planned its doable depending on where you get in. ive fished this area on a small skiff, and depending on tides it aint that bad. there is actually a reverse eddy current on ithe outgo that sets up at both Bonita and Bakers

yea, he was being understandably vague about exactly where. Can you imagine what that patch of water would look like come saturday had he posted exact numbers, with fish like that. Still im thinking bonita or better yet Muir beach could put a yakker within reach of a slug...

Tomorrow morning's tides actually look pretty good for this!  A bunch of us launched at Fort Baker in October '06 in ideal tide conditions, but much less than ideal wind conditions.  Made it all the way out to the cove with no problems.

The picture in my avatar is from that day, maybe halfway bewteen Bonita and the Bridge.

Sharky...small tides and watch your ass.  Big boats HUGE currents.  If you are new and don't have the shoulders I would be extremely careful.

Less than a foot of change hi to lo this morning, but the wind was blowing HARD by late morning out of the west when I drove over the bridge.  Lots of variables (tide being most important) involved at this spot...
