Thursday 07.17.08

Met up with Fred "da Savage" at Livermore at 1:30AM and we convoyed to Tahoe. We reached the Kings Beach boat ramp around 5AM and got our feet wet half an hour later. Launched in perfect conditions and made live bait right away (red band minnows). Fred caught and released 3 small macks and I caught and kept one 21 incher. We mooched / trooched between 100 to 200 FOW and called it a day by 2PM. Conditions got wet and wild on our paddle back to the launch.....

...this particular fella made it's way to one of the minnow traps that Fred had set-up...I WAS gonna use it for bait as you can see, it flashed the "M" for Mooch with it's claws  :smt002 I simply had to let it go :smt001

....the "sheep" (whitecaps) decided to show up as we made our way back :smt011 But despite our on-going love/hate relationship, Fred and I managed as we've experienced far worse conditions ever since we've been kayak fishing together  :smt002

After fishing, we had lunch at a small hole-in-da-wall taqueria (Fish Hunter would have approved of it :smt002) and headed to the DL Bliss camp ground. We were greeted by Stuart and his "sweet hearts".

We then set-up camp and had a nice peaceful lake side dinner "NCKA STYLE"  :smt109 .

BobN preparing mouth-watering-tri tip while Fuzz made some fresh (recently spear fished) white sea bass poke ...yummy stuff :smt007

The days were more focused on spending some quality time with friends and family...rather than the usual "fish harvesting"  :smt002 IT WAS ALL GOOOOD  :smt023

*Here's the beach where we spent most of the day - view from the parking lot...

* ChuckE and his wife Mercy and their adorable "Aki"  :grommit:
