Hey Guys,
I was just working on my reel, and I'm afraid I got a little bit of WD-40 on my Spectra line...Is that bad? I hate to think of respooling...
 Thanks,
 Andrew
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

Andrew, that's a very good question.  I've been wondering the same thing .  I did some searching for information too and haven't found anything negative from the makers of WD-40 or Spectra.

Spraying WD-40 on your line might actually provide a couple benefits like longer casts and scent attraction.  Although illegal in some places, fishermen have been spraying their baits with WD-40 as a fish attractant.  I've seen it work on sturgeon and catfish.  Many swear by it.

Pescadore, thanks for that link.

Hi Malibu_Two:

You might PM "alantani" about the care of fishing reels. He gives
lessons on reel repair at FisherMans Warehouse.
