I think you're going to remember that day forever!
After my "under- the- legs-what-do-I-do-now-massage" by a 25" mini butt a couple of weeks ago, I loved your story!   By the time I get out there, there won't be room to slip a yak.

Awesome!  That's the kind of day that'll keep you grinning for quite a while.  That thing is huge.   :smt007

I asked my stepbrother about that a couple of years ago. He's a fish biologist on the east coast. The brain is behind the eyes. Here's a photo of a dissection.

Nice to see the bay putting out some good butts this year.  It's been awhile.  Nicely done SC X factor

Alien, I got a 34 from the sc mile buoy in '04 back when I was paddling the Triple.  My buddy up front got a 25 that day too.  While the area hold a special place in my heart ... it's sort of a love/hate relationship if you know what I mean.

Sorry to put out the location on the Capitola site but those guys have been soo helpful. They let us use their ramp and boat launch, hold my wheels while I go fishing and put out quality info. On top of that I have never bought much from them save a cup of coffee. I know I left one nice one out there yesterday. I can only hope a yak hooks it up it is hard for the pbs to fish tight to the kelp line. I just keep paddling in and out of the edge. Off for a vaca back at it in two weeks.

I do know what you mean! Up north is a whole different game . But it's always nice to get one here that people like to talk about. You got a 34 in '04, I got my 32.8 in '05 and now Scxf got his 34.6. I just want to know how  long it would be before a heavier one is caught.

Awesome fish, congrats!

I love the "struggling to hold this up much longer" shot!
