I'm planning on launching my yak Saturday morning (6/28) at New Brighton around 6am hope to see folks in the water.

They usually dont open the gate into the main parking lot until 8am, thats when I have been launching there lately. Are you camping there? or walking in off the street to launch at 6am? Im contemplating fishing Monterey, but might opt for N.B.....good luck if I dont see ya out there, Kimo

Good to know, I'll be using my annual state park day pass so I was planning on parking inside the day use park

That gate is a major peeve. especially this time of year when a good two hours of daylight are gone by the time they get it open.  I really don't understand why it's that way.
    But if you park near the camping sites in the extra spaces you can roll your yak down the hill and under the chain and get to the beach that way earlier.
