Here's another one. Kunz's Reel Gear Gaffs made Kayak Angler magazine's 2008 Gear Buyer's Guide. Find it on p. 36 in the Summer / Fall 2008 issue.

Yeah KZ, awesome! Those are the most pimp gaffs out there. Glad to hear you get the recognition for it. Congrats.

Yeah... big props to PAL for the ink.  My copy is on the way.

I was in Wind Toys the other day talking to the owner.  In the course of our conversation he showed me some random paddlesports retailer trade magazine that I never heard of.  I said hey, I know that guy on the cover... it's Paul Lebowitz... the article on kayak fishing was authored by PAL in that magazine as well.  The guy is everywhere.

No, no, no, not props to me. Props to your gaff KZ. I wouldn't shine the spotlight on just any 'ol junk.

That other bit is news to me. You must be talking about Paddlesports Business Journal. Incidentally, there's an NCKA'er quoted in there too, John Martin of Humboats. I haven't seen it yet.

They stuck me on the cover? That's not supposed to happen! Probably got me with some micro-fish too, like they did for Canoe and Kayak's July fishing kayak review. I covered the T120 Ultralite, the Hurricane Phoenix 160 (sexy boat!), the Hobie i12s, and the OK Prowler Trident, so if you disagree, now you know who to blame.

More NCKA, coverage of the hotly contested AOTY. Read it at the Western Outdoor News website:

http://www.wonews.com/t-FeatureArticle-AnglingObsession-Lebowitz-092308.aspx

In fact, it looks like four stories penned for the year's final kayak fishing special section are up there. NCKA folks may be interested in:

and

(And for those with sharp eyes, the final photo caption should read: ONE ‘STAND’ TOO FAR – The consequences of standing in the wrong place are obvious. Elite angler splashdown is imminent.)

Sweet, I got a name drop on the AOTY piece for writing the webapp.   I think that official makes me the biggest kayak fishing nerd out there.

Thanks for all that you do to promote the sport Paul.

I almost missed it because I was down in Mexico, but NCKA gets prominent play in my Western Outdoor News story 'Sands of Sorrow.' It ran in both the northern and southern editions, issue date Dec. 12. And what do you know, its already on the web: http://www.wonews.com/Blog.aspx?ID=391&AuthorID=59047&t=THE%20SANDS%20OF%20SORROW

A fair amount of kayak fishing in this week's WON, issue date Feb 13. JTF and his winning ling show up (again) in a story highlighting the year's biggest events. Fisherman's Warehouse Kayak Fishing Series gets a lot of pub, as does 'kayakstock' - of course I'm talking Elk. Kayak Connection and MBK are mentioned too. And then there's a brief bit on last fall's Cortes Bank mothership trip. Check that, it only ran in the southern edition. Too bad, there's a pic in there that's pure yellowtail carnage, but it only shows a fraction of the damage. Fishing kayaks at Mexico's Lake El Salto too.
