Check out Scwafish's take on fishing moving water in the July issue of Canoe and Kayak, p30.

See what NCKA has to say about Pinecrest Lake in the upcoming WON Kayak Summer Preview, due out in the July 4 issue. NCKA rigging tips should be in there too (if they aren't, you'll see them a week or two later).

As an aside, The Tax Man Cometh, my column featuring NCKA and a certain shark attack was honored with an Excellence in Craft award from the Outdoor Writers Association of California. It's available on my website: http://www.kayakfishingzone.com/howto/taxman.html

Thanks for giving me a window into the NorCal world and letting me share your stories.

Contratulations on the award Paul... nice feather in your cap.  You are really an outstanding writer, both in terms of being accurate and factual and in your creative prose.

You guys are way too kind. Thanks for the nice words.

New this week in WON, Sean White talks about his epic Baja blast. It's page 13 in the SoCal edition, issue date July 11. Paige and Chris get the photo treatment. I only wish I'd had more space to give everyone on the excursion their due.

Paul -

Read your insert in WON this week and loved it although a little heavy on the SCAL scene.  :smt005 Can't believe that yak anglers have not helped others in distress. That is sooooo wrong. Hope it wasn't in Nor Cal.  :smt011

Sadly true, although hard to believe. SoCal too I'm afraid, twice at La Jolla. I'd like to believe the people who paddled right on by were novices who didn't recognize the trouble. The really salty guys would never leave someone floundering in the water.

Here's another one. Kunz's Reel Gear Gaffs made Kayak Angler magazine's 2008 Gear Buyer's Guide. Find it on p. 36 in the Summer / Fall 2008 issue.

And how could I forget? Steve Scott has a photo with my MLPA news story, quotes to stakeholder rep Sean White, Monterey area guide Allen Bushnell, and NCKA head honcho Bill Pennington. p 16, same issue.
