Driving to the lake it kept getting smokier and smokier I thought the hills were on fire but I guess it was just smoke from the Napa fire.
Launched at 1 and went to the spots that produced LMB last week for a big fat nothing so I shot up the warm springs arm as I was going by the Marina I saw a huge school of bait on the bottom in 30' of water so I tied on a couple of cranks and started trolling 2 min into the troll both rods get nailed land one nice steelie and the one on the other rod was jumping but got off pretty funny when a fish your not even fighting keeps jumping. So I circle the bait for about an hour and get 6 hook ups and land 4 of them 1 I had to keep  she was bleeding pretty bad. I continue up the arm and hit some rocky areas for so smallies nothing big but pretty consistant action, but still no LMB hit a couple more spots for nada so I head back out to the main part of the lake the sun getting pretty low so I start tossing the only top water lure I brought and bingo it gets blowed up fish on oops fish off and another fish hits it too make a long story short the bass turned on like a light switch I nailing bass after bass and then I lose my lure so I start throwing senkos in about 3' of water and you can see the bass rushing to get them too much fun. Went thru 2 bags in about and hour getting hit on almost every cast nothing big but not dinks all 15/19". Hated to leave but had to, caught one with a weird mark on it's tail any ideas.

Is that an Ice chest full of beer I see in the first picture?

I hear you on the smoke, I went to a wedding on saturday in Sonoma and on the way home that night the hills were glowing and I could see the flames shooting up 50-60 feet in the cloud of smoke. It definitely was a site to see. I wish the camera would of picked up the hillside glow it was pretty bada$$. Anyways nice job, it sounds like fun being able to hook one right after another.

I didn't see it happen but there was a funky aluminum boat at the ramp when I got there, some guy told me he was leaving the ramp a little too fast and his wife was using the cooler as a seat he hit a big wake and the cooler and his wife went flying :smt005 he said it had $200 of food and Beer mostly beer in it they were going to a boat in campground. I heard his wife yelling at him and she refused to get in the boat again can't say I blame her.

Side note last week I was using Power Pro on my wacky set up and broke off quite a few fish in the brush I spooled up with Suffix Performance Braid and didn't break off any it is a little stiffer still casts great a little quieter thu the guides and easier to tie knots with, I had a few fish wrap me up and I have no abraded spots on the line I am impressed. I'm going to switch out my rockie rigs. I'm still a Mono guy but this line has me thinking.

I hear ya Mike... My rigs with power pro are frayed up. I'm trying this spider wire braided stuff and so far... so good.

You laugh but I was thinking about it stopped a couple of times to check out some worm containers or dig up some bait all I could find were lizards but they are too cute to impale. Tried for Crappie too might be a fun idea for a Tourney points for each species. If I had taken some worms I would have had a good shot at 3 more species kittys, crappies and sunfish.

Good day on the water mike... the smoke up here is terrible...  how could you breath out there?  I would have been out there myself except the wife is now working from home and I was busy helping her set up her office... apparently I'm her new I.T. guy.
