MY best kayaking day (non fishing) was while I was a medical student in Budapest.  My maniac Norwegian friend and I were idling on Margit Sziget (an island in the middle of the Danube, downtown Budapest) and decided to "borrow" two kayaks from the local rowing club.  We took the yaks on the Danube and started riding the wakes of passing barges.  Though our trip was cut short by a police boat, we had a hell of a lot of fun.

Best kayak fishing trip:Was at Lake Tahoe in late summer 2008.  Early morning I caught a nice Brown, early afternoon the kokanee bite was on, late afternoon jigging yielded some large macs.  Tahoe trifecta in one day!

What a fun thread! I can't pick just one though. Yeah, I know, boo-hoo. :smt010
What does stand out are the incredible striper boils at Mendo, last year's salmon on the Klamath, a wide open spring bass bite 2 years ago at Clear Lake, and the flat calm conditions every time I went out on the ocean last year.
Most of these occasions I was by myself. The Klamath and the ocean I got to share with the bro's.
Fish aside, I've had some great times on the water just BS'n with others.
Looking forward to more fishin & BS'n...
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.
