we arrived about 7am to thick fog, little wind and 6-8ft swell. we headed north about a mile started fishing. i was using 4-6oz lead-heads with rubber and tipped with squid. spike was dropping all kinds of heavy metal. he landed a black right away, then an underling and a copper. the wind picked up out of the south so we moved in a little closer to shore and hopped from kelp bed to kelp bed with spike picking up a few more coppers. we came in about 11 so i could purge the demons lurking in my bowels. after a little snack we decided we were both getting pretty cold so we launch back out and headed south. we kelp hopped our way down to the southern reef where spike landed a nice 26 inch ling an a few more coppers. i landed only one copper all day but had a great time fishing with spike who was generous with fishing tips and techniques.

Thanks for another great day on the water Jack.  For those who don't know, Kayak Jack is the ultimate kayak fishing partner.  So far, he's a wiz at picking the weather windows too!
I'm excited to be back in the saddle and can't hardley wait for the halibut spawn.
