Fish Hunter mentioned this last week but I had to post a plug for this event because I've had good experiences at Outback. :smt001  For anyone who hadn't noticed, they're one of the advertisers on this site and they actually carry kayak fishing accessories.

For $20 you can try out as many kayaks as you want (or as time allows) & the fee can be applied to a new yak if you buy one that day. Pre-registration is advised. All in-stock kayaks & accessories will also be on sale.

Here's the link with all the info:

Yup, already have my reservations made!  I think it is going to be a great help in my wife and my decision on what yak to buy as we can try them out and get what feels right to us.  :smt002

Well, I must say, the demo day event at Outback was just plain awesome!
Shannon and I were pretty much the first ones there, jumped into a OK P-13 and a Malibu X-13 (those are the two we pretty much have our minds boiled down too) and headed up Corte Madera Creek.  Went about a mile up and swapped boats so we could get the feel of both of them and headed further up then turned around and went back.
We both fell in love with the  X-13.  Loved the layout, the stability, ease of getting up to speed and the dryness of the ride.

We also checked out the larger kayaks (X-treme, etc and the Tarpons as well but just kept going back to the X-13.

If Outback did this event to sell kayaks, well....mission accomplished. Although we can't buy them till the first of the year, Outback is getting our money for two new X-13' and all the trimmings  :smt003

Thanks Outback, for helping us make up our minds and we will be speaking soon  :smt006
