It's too bad that you didn't Oldfart. Joel was one of a kind.

Mooch LIVES!

Below is a woefully incomplete list.  Others- feel free to add.

Old fart anyone ever does anything nice for you around here, you are meeting Joel.

Someone tells a "blow the milk out your nose" joke, or pulls off the elaborate prank, you are meeting Joel.

Another kayak fisherman takes the time to give you his secret rigging technique, You're meeting Joel.

When you don't really feel like paddling out, and some NCKA guy MAKES you come with- You're meeting Joel.

When you practice those principles yourself Joel is smiling in Heaven, knowing he accomplished his purpose here.

I finally have one.

Just remembered,  happened about five years ago and it did not click until later that night.

My first cousin Stephanie lives with her boyfriend Cameron in Burbank.  Cameron's family is old school radio.  I can't remember all the names sadly.  There were really famous old guys on his wall with his dad.  I think Gene Autry was his dad's best friend.  His step dad was also an actor,  I'll try to remember what he was in too.

So we are at their holiday party maybe in 2009.  20 or 30 of us there in their little 50's Burbank house.  We left a headed back to my Mom and Dad's house in Long Beach.  We watched one of the Da Vinci Code movies.  One of the characters looked really familiar.  Rance Howard,  Ron Howard's dad was in the movies and at the party.  It turns out that Rance and his wife lived directly behind Cameron.  We talked to him but had no idea who he was.  They have been family friends forever.

Supposedly,  Cameron was in 3 Gary Coleman movies.  Cameron worked at KLOS radio in sales in the 90's and met practically every band.  He is a marriage and family therapist now.

For any of you cycling fans . . .

Dave Zabriskie and Marianne Vos were at my office yesterday.  In town ahead of Sea Otter, doing some sponsorship work.

This past weekend while I was standing in line to use the Starbucks restroom I ran into Jamal Mayers. To be honest I didn't know who he was but he was wearing a HUGE ring and the guy next to me started asking a ton of questions and that's how I found out.

When I was in elementary school my dad used to take me to the 49ers practices quite often. I've met a ton of players but the two that stick out the most is Jerry Rice and Steve Mariucci. I remember Jerry Rice driving a Honda Rav 4 while Steve was rolling in a grey beat up civic.

My coolest encounter so far was meeting Dennis Chambers (Santana) in the elevator at some hotel in Santana Row. I was completely caught off guard and had a smile on my face the entire night haha.

Through work, I get to meet a lot of "famous" people, but the most memorable famous person I have ever "bumped" into was George Foreman. I was in the airport in Houston Texas back in 2002-3? and walking fast from one gate to another, and was looking down at my boarding pass. Walked right smack into him. I looked up and all I could say was "hey champ" and he patted me on the shoulder with his big ol paw and walked on with his group of people. Everyone asked me "do you know who that was!!!?" I felt like Bubba talkin to Forest on the bank of that river, when all he could say was "Hey Bubba." He is a big ol boy.
