5/19:

Went out for an evening trip after work last Monday.  Hit the tides just right and scored 14 bass in three hours.  They were hitting senkos of any color it seemed.  I must have missed 6-10 bites as well.  My first fish was 5 pounds 12 ounces, and the second was 3 pounds 12 ounces.  Most were 1-2 pounders.  Later in the evening, I chucked my senko deep into a tule pocket and the water swirled, BAM, fish on!  This one was 6 pounds and 4 ounces.  My 5 biggest fish totaled 20 pounds, 8 ounces.  Overall, a fun relaxing evening.

5/26:

Slept in this morning, but was bored my midday, so I went out despite the holiday boat traffic.  To my surprise, there were very few boats in the area I was fishing.  I guess they already spent their gas money earlier in the weekend.  The tide was at the bottom, very low.  Not as many fish, only 6.  The biggest was 4 pounds 2 ounces.  I only saw three boats go by the whole time I was out there (not counting the marina).

Have fun out there, and be safe.

I just noticed the tail fin in the first pic and the anal fin in the second pic is damaged. Some spawning injuries? lol

Jeff--the weather was windy both days.  First Monday colder weather moving in, second cold weather moving out.  The tules blocked nearly all the wind, which was nice.  Most spawners I have been catching have beat up bloodied tails.

Danglin--those FLW boys (and gals) are pretty good.  They won't let kayaks enter because they know we'd whoop 'em, haha.

James--have not heard of much crappie action.  The guys at the docks catch some on small crappie jigs in 15-20 feet of water.  White or chartruse.  I have not fished for crappie before, but would like to try it sometime.  PM me if you wanna hook-up.  I may be going out in the evening later this week.
