Why doesn't anyone go to Bodega Bay? Is it a good place to fish?

Forecast for guys planning to go to the Bean:

Sun
NW winds 15 to 25 kt. Wind waves 3 to 5 ft. NW swell 4 to 6 ft at 7 seconds and S 2 ft at 15 seconds. Patchy fog.

It's not looking good when the wind waves are nearly as big as the swell which appears to be mixed too.  The sheep start appearing when the wind is around 10 kt (12 mph).

Not good:

HAVEiEVERmentionedTHATiHATEtheWIND!

It has been blowin since yesterday and now it's all F'd UP!

It's forcasted to blow til midnite...but it's already windswell'd out.
I'm gonna have to BLOW this one off, unless someone else can prove otherwise.  It will be a fast, bumpy drift and that ain't fun for me. :smt010

Not the kind of SHEEP I was hoping to need to count to night!

Good morning,

The conditions do not look favorable for me to head out to BH.  Are there any alternate locations that might prove to be more newbie friendly?  Or should I wait for a better window of opportunity?

Not good:

Bummer.
Its not a bad drive for me, so I think I'm still going to at least do a drive by early to check it out. Sometimes it ain't as bad as the forecasts make out. BUT sometimes it is...
I've got some backup options closer to home.

Grrr.. That weather report BITES!  Well, I already have the time cleared w/ the girl, so I'm going SOMEwhere!  I'll keep my mind open about the possibility of it settling down, and in the mean time, I am going to check the freshwater reports.

So, I might be there, or...

Rick

Mike,   There really aren't any close options when it's windy.......I'd wait it out til the conditions are better, therefore the fishin will be better, resulting in a BETTERtimeFORyou! (IMO)
the way it's blowin here on the eastbayside, it's got to be bad over/down there also!

I will check again tonight and in the morning, if I am not there don't wait for me, it means I whimped out.

Bodega Bay is where most boats leave from to go fishing. The party boats head for Fort Ross north or Pt. Reyes to the south. There are fish around but going either north or farther south are more productive areas  (less people=more fish). There is also the "Man in the grey suit" swimming around the seals to deal with.

Is Bodega Bay particularly bad for GWS?

Screw that.  Was planning on at least giving it a drive-by, but I think I'd rather save my wampum and fish in s#!ty weather closer to home.
