The viz is 10+ and fish are everywhere including blue gill and giant karp roaming in packs.
The hordes of largemouth kind of go without saying but still the bite has been challenging.
Sundays can be tough with basscar mixed up with fuel burners of all other sort racing across the lake all day. This and the sun was also making its presence felt so we retreated to a wooded santuary and found that the fish were trying to escape the weekend warrior crowd too.  Most victims were taken on wacky senkos of assorted flavors with purple bringing in the big fish of the day. I nabbed my 2 largest on a black crawjig. This is a great time of year on the clear lady if you are into watching fish.
the T160 was a little challenging in this environ. The mini-X would have been a better choice in the trees but it wouldnt have been nearly as much fun getting there.

The two bigger pics look pretty niiiiice.
Are the 'gills consistent enough to chase them w/ a flyrod popper?
Any frog fish?
I was itching to go yesterday but had too much to do at home. I'm glad you went and reported!
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Pretty awesome playground up there.  In the trees, is it buggy and stagnant?

Juan,
these were the first bluegill Ive spotted this year but the clarity hasnt been this good until recently.
im bringing the bg swimbaits next outing because they were hanging in big bass territory. I spotted them  just outside of the edge of the woods so I think a flyrod would work. They were not spooky at all. I didnt use the frog yesterday but they are coming along next time as well.
Yakuza,
this sanctuary is on the south end of c-lake and isnt boggy at all. great sight fishing and no bugs. The northend woods are a completely different story. We were recently chased out of prime fishing zones by swarms of skeeters. another reason I am a southern kind of guy.

Here is one of those northside bogs.

Thanks for the report, Terry.  Those cutty spots back in the woods look sick!

Where on the lake is were the picture taken?  I was there with friend in his PB and we hit the Keys, along with "Bass & tubes" bellyboat club who had a bass tournament going on, Sunday we crossed to the north end  of the lake to Rodmans slough.  It waters back in that area look a lot like the shots you posted.

Terry

What do you do with the extra rods when you go into the canopy like that. Do you stick them into the hatch? Leave them home? I always get my second rod all rapped up by the trees. LOL!
