Definitely enjoying the rudder.  I really fell in love with the rudder after using my Kaskazi for boil chasing, especially when flycasting. The flyrod takes a few moments to get going and I always seemed to be drifting off course as I fiddled with the flyrod.  With the rudder I could stay on target while I got organized.

Nice job as always Sean.
Have you paddled the P15 much??
I was wondering what your opinion is on the advantages/disadvantages of each are?

Believe it or not they are VERY different feeling boats.  The P-15 is lighter, faster (at least initially) and more stable.  The Trident is an order of magnitude bigger and the seat height is significantly higher so at first it feels bigger, slower and tippier.  It is however also MUCH drier (even with me), more comfy, and the layout rules.

Essentially the T-15 is a better purpose built fishing machine, especially for big guys.  The P-15 remains one of the better paddling SOTs to date.

What a bad ass fishing kayak should be.  I just saw this thread for the first time this morning before heading for work.  Nicely done Sean.  Whats up with the new power supply, any more info on this?

Thanks JTF, this simple setup has been great.  It worked like a champ in baja.  I set up Mahi's exactly the and he is loving it too.

The battery is just a simple 3.3 aH gel cell with a fuse and and two pin connector built in.  Cheap and simple, and I had a pile of them for baja in case we ran charging issues.

That deckplate comes with every Humminbird ff for free.  The Sealcon unit is a CD16NR-BK, but you have to modify it to work.

Did you get the navionics charts with that FF, and if so, how do you like the detail?

Sean, what transducer did your us that would go through a scupper hole? Do you have the Model / Order number and will it fit the Matrix 67?

This one... http://store.humminbird.com/humminbird-products/transducers/piranhamax/xth-9-20-p-plastic-thru-hull-transducer/prod710167-1.html

Rory it will work with any Humminbird dual beam, including the 67, but it won't fit in the scupper of your x.  The scuppers on the Trident series are designed around the transducer.
